Services for the elderly

The aim of services for the elderly is to ensure that all elderly Turku residents will be able to live in their own homes for as long as possible.

Social workers who are reponsible for the health care of the elderly also advise clients and the families of the client on the following issues:

• when an elderly person cannot manage at home, even with the support of home care
• when information is required about health care centres: care homes, residential homes and private nursing homes
• other worrying or complicated issues relating to the care of the elderly.
