Rector Juha Kettunen to fortify TUAS' Publication Services and the internationalisation of our RDI Activities
The long-term Rector of Turku University of Applied Sciences, Docent Juha Kettunen, will transfer to a new post in the company. He will fortify TUAS’ Publication Services and the internationalisation of our research and development activities.
In the UAS reform, internationalisation and publication activities have been introduced as indicators of the government funding. On 30 September 2014, the Board of TUAS Ltd decided to fortify these activities by agreeing with Juha Kettunen on the transfer to the post, with the title Chancellor from 1 October 2014.
In the new funding model of universities of applied sciences, publication activities, international mobility and external research, development and innovation funding have an emphasis of 14 percent. In 2014, the central government transfers of Turku University of Applied Sciences will be about 60 MEUR.
“TUAS has to invest in the sectors that are emphasised in the funding model, and in which we have the prerequisites to succeed”, states Chairman of the Board, Jouko K. Lehmusto.
“The experience that Juha Kettunen has in this field is significant, and he will fortify the activities of the new organisation of the university of applied sciences with his own competence”, Lehmusto continues.
