The first call for KampusART artists is now open!
The first open call of the Kupittaa Campus arts programme has started. We seek an interesting and bold idea for an artwork with a combination of an open call for portfolios and an invitational art competition. The artwork will be produced in the yard deck to be constructed between TUAS’ new campus building and Visitor and Innovation Centre Joki.

TUAS is granted funding of almost a million euros for the Multicomponent Materials Centre of Expertise for Additive Manufacturing
The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has granted Turku University of Applied Sciences EUR 960 000 as strategic profilation funding for research, development and innovation activities (RDI). The Ministry granted altogether 5 million euros of profilation funding to universities of applied sciences.

Intensified cooperation in education between Turku University of Applied Sciences and Brazil
The aim is to strengthen further the cooperation in education between Brazil and TUAS. These were the words of the Brazilian ambassador, who visited Turku. Brazilian higher education institutions are especially interested in the learning concepts and methods developed at TUAS, which highlight innovation competencies.

TUAS student project is constructing e-rallycross car - steel company SSAB to join collaboration
Global steel company SSAB has established an agreement on collaboration with Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) in a student project in which an e-rallycross car is built. The e-rallycross car project serves as a research, experiment and learning environment where students from different fields learn in collaboration with companies.

Foreign IT students to relieve shortage of professionals in Southwest Finland
The positive structural change taking place in Southwest Finland has highlighted the shortage of professionals in the field of engineering. To remedy the situation, the ICT unit of Turku University of Applied Sciences in Salo starts to educate engineers specializing in the Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity.

During the two-day visit by the Scottish delegation to Turku, practical suggestions for measures to be applied to collaboration in education and research in the field of technology were found, particularly for the needs of marine and manufacturing industry as well as health care.

Reforming the education ensures the competitiveness of industry
The export industry, the engine of the Finnish economy, needs more competent engineers. The education should be quickly renewed with both short- and long-term solutions. The aim of Turku University of Applied Sciences is to double the volume of its engineering education to be able to meet this need.
