Civitas ECCENTRIC

CiViTAS ECCENTRIC project, funded by the Horizon2020 CiViTAS initiative, aims to promote sustainable mobility in six European cities. During the project these cities - Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), Ruse (Bulgaria), Stockholm (Sweden) and Turku (Finland) - will engage their local administrations, public transport operators, professionals and citizens in a wide range of measures  developing innovative and sustainable mobility in suburban neighbourhoods.

The project will contribute to safer walking and cycling, efficient and clean public transport solutions, flexible and dynamic parking, development of mobility as a service for all, as well as promotion and uptake of clean vehicles.

In Turku, the main focus lies in the Kupittaa-Itäharju area. The project is led by the Union of the Baltic Cities. Other local partners include Turku University of Applied Sciences, Regional Council of Southwest Finland, Turku City Traffic Ltd., Western Systems Oy and Biovakka Suomi.
