Digi-JouJou – Flexible Swedish and Finnish Language Learning for Future Working Life Needs

The project funding is part of the state aid granted by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture for development projects in higher education for the years 2017-2019. These projects aim at improving the quality of learning, teaching and guidance of the students and will promote interaction between higher education and the surrounding society. The aim of these development projects is also to increase cooperation between higher education institutions and to redesign practices and learning environments.

The Digi-JouJou project creates new multifaceted and multi-media pedagogy for teaching of the domestic languages Swedish and Finnish as a second language. Digitalization and the students’ individual learning will be the focus of the teaching experiments done by the participating teachers. The project also develops the teachers’ digi-pedagogical competences and creates flexible ways of implementing the curricula in teaching the domestic languages.

The aim is also to establish a collaborative network between the Finnish higher education institutions to ensure that good practices will be shared between the participating institutions also in the future.
