Functional Everyday Life and Accessible Environment

Functional Everyday Life and Accessible Environment is a research group which studies interaction between human activities and the environment from the accessibility and usability points of view.

The research group develops innovative solutions, practices and know-how in order to promote equality and inclusion in everyday life.

The research group has examined the accessibility of housing and built environment, the usage of e-services and technologies, and accessibility in areal development. Based on this, new models, solutions and services – such as the Kunnonkoti information centre for accessible housing, Kylä interactive e-services for elderly people living at home, and accessibility assessment training – have been developed.
