Educator training for business creation in innovative environments

Turku University of Applied Sciences offers unique educator training in the fields of promoting entrepreneurship and developing working life skills. The role of the educator is changing from the traditional teacher to a mentor or coach and we can facilitate the shift with a train-the-trainer concept, providing entirely new ways of thinking.

We train you to create two kinds of innovative learning environments:

1) PRACTICE ENTERPRISES (PE)

Practice Enterprises are virtual companies simulating real business. The students gain practical understanding of the basic processes of running a company in a safe environment. Practice Enterprises are teamwork activities based on the learning-by-doing approach.

2) BUSINESS ACADEMY (BA)

Business Academy means real business in student-owned companies. Students establish multidisciplinary cooperatives or other forms of business and focus on task-based learning, where real-life projects meet university curricula. With the Business Academy concept, student entrepreneurs obtain international work experience, learn teamwork skills and share valuable connections.

… IN THE PE ENVIRONMENT

  • Introducing the PE learning environment and our pedagogical philosophy and innovative teaching methods
  • Need analysis based on client requirements
  • Creating a project plan with phases, schedules and tasks
  • Duration: 3 days + remote course

…IN THE BA ENVIRONMENT

  • Introducing the BA learning environment concept and the teacher-to-coach philosophy behind it
  • Need analysis based on client feedback and learning
  • Conclusions and potential solutions for improvements
  • Duration: 2 days + pre-assignment

BOOSTING IMPLEMENTATION

  • Consulting the client educator to improve implementation with conclusions and concrete solutions
  • Implementing measurement tools
  • Duration: 2 days
