How to Apply? 

This page contains information for students who wish to study at Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) as an exchange student.

Application Deadlines

Application deadline for the autumn semester 2010 or for the whole study year 2010-2011 is 30th April 2010.

Application deadline for the spring semester 2011 is 31st October 2010.

Application process

Before applying you should contact the international office at your home university to make sure that you will be nominated for the exchange studies at TUAS.

FREE MOVERS: If your home university and TUAS do not have a bilateral agreement, then you need to apply through the TUAS Open University of Applied Sciences. For more information, please see Open studies.

Required Steps in the Application Process

Step 1

Go to the application form (link can be found below).

First you need to choose the right exchange programme:

Erasmus student exchange = Students from Erasmus partner universities of TUAS
Nordplus student exchange = Students from Nordplus partner universities of TUAS
Other student exchange = Students from all other partner universities of TUAS
Erasmus work placement = Students from Erasmus partner university of TUAS who will do their work placement at TUAS
Other work placement = Students who will do their work placement at TUAS
Not yet know = Students who do not know in which programme they belong to

TUAS International Summer School
You can apply to TUAS International Summer School with the same application form. Just click "Yes" on "I will attend the TUAS Summer School 10.8.-24.8.2010."


Fill in your personal data and click "SEND APPLICATION" at the end of the application page.
You will receive a confirmation email with a link to proceed with the online registration.

Step 2

After logging in to the system, press "Complete personal data" and fill in your address information, submit it by pressing "Create".

Step 3

Upload your passport photo and the application documents.

Application documents to be uploaded:
- Transcript of records in English of your studies so far 
- Learning Agreement (click to download the form)
- Motivation letter in English
- As to the other documents needed, please check with your International Coordinator of TUAS

Step 4

Print out the application by pressing "Print application". Ask your departmental coordinator to sign the application.

Send the application with the required documents (for e.g. transcript of records, motivation letter, learning agreement) to us by the deadline.
Design and Arts Academy students, please send the portfolio also.

The applications will be forwarded to the international coordinator in the faculty to which the student is applying to.

Step 5

Wait for the acceptance from TUAS. You will receive it by email.

You will also receive an information package which includes helpful information about TUAS, how to reserve the accommodation and generally about the town where you will be studying.

Step 6

NOTE! After receiving the acceptance from TUAS you can reserve the accommodation.

The students who will be studying in Turku need to apply for the accommodation from the Student Village Foundation at www.tys.fi
