Dozens of guests from around the world to arrive in Turku

Turku University of Applied Sciences hosts an international week on 27–31 March simultaneously at ICT City, Lemminkäisenkatu, Ruiskatu and on the Salo campus. Dozens of guests will arrive in Turku especially from European partner institutions, but also from elsewhere in the world.

During the week, the visitors will give expert lectures, get to know the activities of TUAS’ research groups, learning environments and businesses in the Turku region. The visitors represent several different fields and this year the amount of joint, multidisciplinary activities has been increased, based on the positive feedback of last year’s guests.

Entrepreneurship and health as the themes of TUAS’ international week

“We’ll have an idea auction and a workshop on projects of the future. The guests and TUAS’ own staff members get to pitch their ideas, fittingly in the SparkUp Turku premises. Of course the programme also includes field-specific lectures to provide students the chance to hear foreign experts in their respective fields. Lectures on social services will be organized at ICT City on Wednesday and lectures on health care will take place in Ruiskatu on Thursday”, says International Relations Coordinator Taina Nordgren.

“Lectures on entrepreneurship and digitalization will in turn take place at Lemminkäisenkatu and ICT City on Thursday. In addition, the joint programme for all guests on Tuesday features an Innopeda workshop for getting to know the operational methods of TUAS and innovation pedagogy, which creates future professionals and in the long run, increases the competitiveness of businesses", says International Relations Specialist Päivi Oliva.

On Wednesday 29 March in Salo, lectures will be given on both health care and entrepreneurship. The lectures are open for the general public, and will take place in the auditoriums on Ylhäistentie. At the same time, there is also a chance to get to know the innovative learning environments in Salo, for example BusinessAcademy.
