Wanted: A Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication

A principal lecturer/senior lecturer in visual communication is sought for the Media Arts education and research unit at the Turku University of Applied Sciences.
The candidate is required to have an appropriate Licentiate or Doctoral Degree (principal lecturer) / Master's Degree (senior lecturer) and a solid track record in an accountable position in visual advertising and target-oriented visual communication. In addition, 60 ECTS pedagogical studies are required (the absence of these is not an obstacle to appointment but is a basis for a non-qualification reduction in the collective labour agreement).

The job description includes:
- teaching visual marketing communications at the Media Arts education and research unit
- future-oriented work-based development work at the Media Arts education and research unit, in co-operation with other employees, among other things in utilizing technology and digital content in visual storytelling and customer interface
- development of networks and the preparation and implementation of research and development projects, together with national and international working partners and students.

This position respects a probationary period of six months.
The Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies (AMK) is a four-year (240 credits) degree programme, during which the student can focus on animation, film, journalism and organizational communication as well as advertising. Advertising students choose to specialize either in the expertise of an AD, a copywriter or a project manager. The extensive Media Arts education and research unit enables the student to build a diverse personal learning plan.
