Changes in the library services at the turn of the year
We replaced the library management system in the turn of the year 2019 - 2020. Simultaneously certain services will be made consistent with the libraries of Turku University and Åbo Akademi. Read how the implementation of the management system will affect our services.
TUAS Finna search service will remain as is.
Loans will be renewed automatically
The new library management system will automatically renew the customers’ loans for certain periods unless there are reservations on them. Textbooks will be renewed for six months and other materials for 12 months starting from the first day of the loan. After these periods, the loans must either be returned or renewed at the library.
If the loan cannot be automatically renewed, you will receive a return notice by email three days prior to the due date and once more on the due date.
Overnight or weekend loans will not be automatically renewed.
Changes in charges
Previously the maximum amount of overdue fines per item was 15 euros. After the change, the maximum overdue fine will be 10 euros / item for textbooks as well as overnight or weekend loans and 6 euros / item for other materials.
In the future overdue fines will be charged according to the actual accumulation of fines. Hence it will no longer be possible to pay for only 50 euros as the maximum overdue fine for loans returned at the same time.
Other fees will remain the same. The new price list will be valid as of January 1st 2020.
Implementation of online payment
Online payment option was implemented in February and now it is possible to pay for overdue fines online.
Other changes
Due to the new library management system the old links on TUAS Finna have ceased to function, PIN-codes have changed and for some customers logging into Finna has also changed. Read more about these and other changes on our website.
