Changes in the entrance examinations to Bachelor’s degree programmes conducted in English

The first joint application period this spring, on 8–23 January 2020, included Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes conducted in English.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, there will be changes in the admissions to Bachelor’s degree programmes. The entrance examinations to Master’s degree programmes will be arranged according to the original plan.

Universities of applied sciences cancel the originally planned entrance examinations to the Bachelor’s degree programmes included in the first joint application of the spring. The admissions are made with an electronic entrance examination.

At Turku University of Applied Sciences, the change applies the following degree programmes, which were included in the first joint application of the spring:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business Online
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Information and Communications Technology

The original entrance examination to the degree programme International Business Online on 1 April has been cancelled. The admissions are implemented with an electronic exam. The first part of the exam (pretask) takes place on 14 April and the second (online interview) on 27–29 April.

The original entrance examination to the degree programme in Information Communications Technology on 2 April has been cancelled. The admissions are implemented with an electronic exam. The first part of the exam (online exam) takes place on 6 April and the second (online interview) on 21–24 April.

More specific information on the entrance examinations is available here: https://www.tuas.fi/en/study-tuas/admissions/admission-criteria/

Altogether 239 people, who have applied with a Finnish degree certificate, have been invited to the entrance examination. Some of those who have applied with a Finnish degree certificate will be selected with the certificate-based method. Those applying with a foreign degree certificate are still selected based on the international SAT test.

More specific instructions have been sent to all applicants invited to the entrance examination, to the email address the applicant has provided in the application form in Studyinfo.

The changes do not apply the Master’s degree programmes (Service Design and Creative Design Management) included in the first joint application of the spring, in which applicants have submitted their preliminary tasks already in January and the admission interviews will be conducted online with a remote connection according to the earlier plan.

The second joint application of the spring, to degree programmes conducted in Finnish, is currently ongoing. The changes announced here do not apply the second joint application period of the spring.
