Admission results of the first joint application in spring 2020 have been released
All admission results of the spring 2020 first joint application have been released by 5 June. All degree programmes offered in the first joint application by TUAS are conducted in English.
The first joint application period included five degree programmes conducted in English by TUAS: Bachelor’s degree programmes in International Business and Information and Communications Technology as well as Master’s degree programmes in Creative Design Management and Service Design. The five degree programmes received altogether approximately 880 applications and the degree programmes offer altogether 125 study places.
All of the applicants accepted to TUAS’ degree programmes conducted in English have already been notified earlier in the spring. Some applicants may have applied for a study place in other higher education institutions and may have been waiting for the other admission results. All the results of the first joint application period in spring have been released latest today.
The study place must be officially confirmed and all the required documents delivered by 17 July 2020 at 15.00 (Finnish time). Remember that you can only confirm one study place during the same academic term. The studies will begin in the autumn. See the instructions for new students and the new students’ guide.
If you are on the waiting list, you will be offered a study place if the applicants before you in the queue do not confirm the study place. Admissions from the waiting list end on 31 July.
The second application period in spring offered degree programmes conducted in Finnish
The second joint application period in spring took place in March and April 2020 and included degree programmes conducted in Finnish. In the second application period TUAS offered over 60 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes and received over 16 000 applications. Around 2000 new students will strat their studies in the degree programmes conducted in Finnish.
The student selection for the degree programmes conducted in Finnish is still ongoing and all the results will be published latest 15 July 2020.
Some of the applicants that have now been selected in a degree programme conducted in English might still be waiting for results of the second joint application in spring. Please note that you can only confirm one study place per academic term. This means that if you have been accepted to several study programmes in one application or in several applications, you need to choose which place you wish to confirm. When you have confirmed a study place, all other study programmes that you have applied to and that begin during the same academic term will be cancelled automatically.
Were you left without a study place?
At the Open University of Applied Sciences, you can carry out the first-year studies together with degree students through the so-called path studies. Studies at Open UAS are subject to charge. Application process for the path studies begins on 21 July 2020 and the studies will start on autumn 2020. Find out more about path studies.
The next joint application period for Master's degree programmes conducted in English is on 2 - 16 September 2020 where the studies will start on January 2021. The next application period for Bachelor's degree programmes is on January 2021 and the studies will start in autumn 2021.
