The goal of the Necoverse project is the development and utilization of new training, design and operating environments in the industrial metaverse in shipbuilding and industry. This project addresses the work clusters and research areas set by Meyer Turku NEcOLEAP program and decreases the shipyard and shipbuilding-related CO2 emissions.

The focus is on shipyard and the execution will be done through three use cases:

1. education and training (people),

2. architecture and design (ship), and

3. remote inspections and remote operations (shipyard).

The industrial metaverse environments offers opportunities to improve the professional skills of employees, develop shipbuilding change management and version control processes, and enable remote inspections and operations, which saves time, costs and energy.
