In the project, a new operational model of on-the-job training (competency model) is developed for nursing students of TUAS, which will be used to respond to the skills needs caused by changes in working life and to raise the level of skills in elderly care work. The model is simultaneously being piloted in connection with its development in the service housing unit for the elderly in the city of Salo. Students spend their entire school year learning on the job, supported by teachers.
