FIT Turku Competence Center utilizes recently renovated laboratory facilities for augmented and virtual reality technology. With investments measuring up to almost half a million euros, a selection of devices and software, which is exceptionally large on the Finnish scale, has been acquired for the service activities. Our experts have been nominated for several international prizes at conferences and events in the years 2019–2020.

Our special competence is related to applied research on interactive technologies (e.g., VR, AR and AI) in different fields (such as technology industry, education, well-being, and tourism). In our services, we utilize the principles of user-centric design and rapid prototyping. The aim is to evaluate the artefacts implemented in close interaction with cooperation partners with indicators of usability, user experience and effectiveness.
