Health Campus Turku inspires innovationHealth Campus Turku will provide new cooperation opportunities between the different expert groups in the fields of social and health care. It creates a joint innovation platform for top research and education, and for the structures of the administration. Vice Rector Juhani Soini started as the new Chair of the campus at the beginning of 2017.

The education should be quickly renewed with both short- and long-term solutions. The aim of Turku University of Applied Sciences is to double the volume of its engineering education to be able to meet this need.

A Large Scale Pilot funding by the European Commission within the H2020 framework starts in January 2017Finland is involved in the ACTIVAGE project, which promotes the well-being of older adults. The project starts in January 2017 and is one of the European spearhead projects which are focused on the utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the treatment of the elderly.
