Students who do not register by the deadline lose their right to study. Consequently, they lose all access rights to TUAS’ information systems and are not entitled to attend teaching or training. The Centre of Student Financial Aid of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) will be notified of the reversal of the right to study.
Transcripts of records and student certificates can be ordered and collected from student offices.
Enrolment for the Academic YearRead more
Enrolment as present or absent, applies students who have started their studies on or after 1 August 2015
You have to enrol as present or absent every academic year. If you neglect the enrolment, you will forfeit your right to study and will have to apply for its reinstatement separately. Remember to enrol also if you’re about to leave for student exchange or are writing your thesis.
Enrol in WinhaWille (the link in SoleOPS goes to WinhaWille) between 1 May – 10 September. The enrolment information can be added or changed between 15 December – 10 January. The enrolment can be changed only during the periods of enrolment.
You can enrol as absent if
you’re completing service according to the Conscription Act (1438/2007), Non-Military Service Act (1446/2007) or the Women’s Voluntary Military Service Act (194/1995);
you're on maternity, paternity or parental leave
- in terms of the two abovementioned, always submit a certificate to the student office.
- other absence max. two semesters in length
The abovementioned absences do not consume your study time.
Students in multiform degree programmes leading to a Bachelor’s degree as well as Master’s degree students shall discuss the effect of an absence on the study arrangements with their tutor teacher. If you wish to enrol as absent, please contact the student office.
Enrolment as present or absent, studies have been started in a degree programme which has started before 1 August 2015
You have to enrol as present or absent every academic year. You can enrol as absent for two academic years in total. You don’t have to submit a certificate for the absence. Enrolment as absent is done in WinhaWille between 1 May – 10 September and 15 December – 10 January.
In the autumn you have to enrol for the entire academic year, unless your study time ends before the spring semester starts. Example: the studies have started in August 2013, and last 3.5 years. The standard study time ends on 31 December 2016. The student can enrol only for the autumn semester 2016. If the studies continue in the spring semester 2017, enrolment for the spring term is done between 15 December – 10 January 2017.

Students on an extension time

You forgot to enrol or resigned and wish to continue your studiesRead more
Students have to enrol as present or absent each academic year, during the enrolment period announced by the university of applied sciences. If you have forgotten to enrol, you have lost your right to study in the degree education. In order to be able to continue your studies, you have to apply for a reinstatement of the right to study. The reinstatement of the right to study can be applied for the same or equivalent degree programme you have studied in.
If your term of right to study is still ongoing, the right to study is reinstated always upon an application. If you have used all of your term of right to study and a possible extension time and have been unable to complete your studies, please see “Your right to study has ended or you have resigned and wish to complete your studies”. You can check from the Student Office if your term of the right to study is still ongoing.
How to apply for reinstatement of the right to study:

Your right to study has ended and you wish to complete your studiesRead more
If you have not completed your studies during the term of right to study or the extension time, you can apply for the reinstatement of the right to study to the degree programme you have studied in or an equivalent one. The right to study can be reinstated if the amount of studies missing from the degree does not exceed 35 cr. A student whose right to study has been restored cannot enrol as absent but is present throughout the entire period of the right to study. How to apply for the reinstatement of the right to study?
- Contact the Student Office of Study Counsellor to confirm that you can apply for reinstatement of the right to study,
- Fill in the electronic application form .
- The fee for processing the application 50 EUR (decree 1440/2014) is paid as netbank payment while filling the application.
- If you cannot use netbank payment, please ask paper form and payment instructions from the Student Office.
Over 35 cr of missing studies
If more than 35 cr of studies are missing from your degree, you can apply for a separate right to study to complete the missing studies until you meet the above mentioned condition for reinstating the right to study. The separate right to study is limited in terms of time and extent and it cannot be used to complete a degree. Granting the separate right to study is at the UAS’ discretion and requires the degree programme’s ability to accept a student. Please read further information on separate right to study in the next section.
A former student of another Finnish university of applied sciences
A student who has studied at another Finnish higher education institution and who has not finished his/her studies, can apply through a separate application for a right to study at Turku University of Applied Sciences to complete his/her studies.

A separate right to study to complete parts of studies in the degree education at Turku University of Applied Sciences can be granted to someone who has lost their right to study at a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at TUAS, and who doesn’t meet the criteria for reinstating the right to study (max. 35 cr of studies can be missing from the degree).
The separate right to study is limited in terms of time and extent and it cannot be used to complete a degree.
Granting the separate right to study is at the UAS' discretion and requires the ability to accept a student. The study administration fee does not apply studies completed with a separate right to study.
An individual study plan (ISP), created with the study counsellor or other instructor, is to be attached to the application for a separate right to study.
A student whose right to study has been restored cannot enrol as absent but is present throughout the entire period of the right to study.
Resignation from the university of applied sciencesRead more
Students who intend to discontinue their studies at TUAS must fill in a resignation form. It can be a pdf form to be filled in manually or an electronic form.
Once the resignation announcement has been processed, the student office sends the student a resignation certificate and a transcript of records in Finnish and English to the address listed for the student in SoleHOPS.
Requests for additional informationRead more
Near or after graduation, you can request additional information on the courses you have completed. If you need additional information that requires processing by Turku University of Applied Sciences, please note that this is subject to a charge.
The typical delivery time is 2–6 weeks depending on the amount of work and if you place the request during peak times (beginnings and ends of academic and calendar years).
- EUR 40 for requests requiring a small amount of work (a signature or equivalent or a letter of recommendation for a student who has graduated / is about to graduate and is applying for further education)
- EUR 70 for requests requiring a moderate amount of work (such as information searches from archived curricula related to a class of graduates)
- EUR 110 for demanding requests (detailed reports on the content of study modules and courses, calculation of study hours)
The payment shall be made before the request for additional information is submitted, to the account FI31 5717 2020 0063 17 of Turku University of Applied Sciences. A copy / receipt of the payment must be attached to the request form (docx / word). More information on making the payment is provided at the back of the form.
Letters of recommendation can be requested within a period of five years from graduation but not later.
Curricula are archived at faculties as needed. If the request concerns curricula from more than five years ago, it is advisable to check if additional information is available. The same applies to single study modules and detailed course content.

Attach a copy of the payment to your written request for additional information.
The request must be submitted to the student office of the unit where the studies were completed.
Requests for certificate copiesRead more
Requests for certificate copies have to be paid for in advance to TUAS’ account FI31 5717 2020 0063 17, BIC/SWIFT: OKOYFIHH. Please name Turun AMK as the recipient and write “Kopiomaksu” (“Copy fee”) in the message field.
A lost or destroyed certificate
If you have lost the original certificate from Turku University of Applied Sciences, you can ask for a new degree certificate from the institution. A new attachment to the degree certificate, the Diploma Supplement and transcripts of records in Finnish and English will be provided with the certificate. A replacing certificate costs EUR 75 when picked up and EUR 84.50 when sent by first-class post. We recommend that you pick up the certificate.
If you have lost the original certificate, you can also ask for an official copy of the degree certificate from the institution. The Dean signs the document and the copy includes the Diploma Supplement and transcript of records, if these have been provided with the certificate. The price of the copy is EUR 40 when picked up and EUR 49.50 when sent by priority mail.
A copy signed by the study secretary is sufficient for e.g. UAF applications. The price of the copy is EUR 20 when picked up and EUR 29.50 when sent by priority mail. The copy includes the degree certificate, the attachment to the degree certificate, the Diploma Supplement and transcripts of records in Finnish and English.
A student who has resigned can obtain an official copy of his/her transcript of records e.g. for accreditation. The price of the copy is EUR 20 when picked up and EUR 29.50 when sent by priority mail.
When you need a certificate copy, contact opintoasiat(a)turkuamk.fi. Please attach the receipt of the payment to your message and include in the message the year of your graduation and the name of the campus you studied in. Remember also include the delivery address, if you have chosen to use priority mail. The copy will be ready within 2 – 4 weeks from the arrival of the receipt.
When picking up the copy of a certificate, please bring your ID card with you. The certificate copies of those graduated before the year 2014 are picked up from the student office of Lemminkäisenkatu Campus.
