Cyber Security Protector

Finland is an information society and thus dependent on the functioning of information networks and systems. This also makes the country extremely vulnerable to failures in the networks and systems. Traditionally, matters concerning cyber security are considered to be functions that companies’ ICT personnel take care of. However, as digitalization is considerably changing the operating environment, this should no longer be the case. Cyber security should be everyone’s shared concern, and action should be taken to narrow the competence gap between the parties responsible for ICT and experts in other sectors.

The main objective of the project is to improve the business opportunities and operating stability of Finnish companies by increasing knowledge of and competence in matters related to cyber security and the topical threat vectors. The project develops cooperation between the players in education and development functions related to cyber security as well as working life training related to the sector, such as specializations and other shorter course modules in cyber security. The project generates working life training, instructions and recommendations, as well as test and pilot environments for the region’s companies and students. It also creates a network of the sector’s regional players.
