Commissioned by AGCO Power, Wärtsilä Finland and other customers, the project studies means to make diesel engines compliant with the strict EU emission norms without compromising their performance. This also serves to make the engines more fuel-efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

In addition, the project studies various exhaust gas processing systems and engines in the size category of heavy equipment and supports the product development of exhaust gas scrubbers (also known as sulphur dioxide scrubbers) for ship engines, among other equipment.
