Welcome to the library

Welcome to the library and congratulations to all new students on your admission! TUAS Library and Information Services helps you with your studies and professional development. The library is near you – you find library services at TUAS campuses as well as online.

Five TUAS campus libraries specialize in subjects taught in degree programmes. The libraries are open on working days. Online library services are available whenever suits you.

You need a library card to borrow

Pick up your library card from the library. You need a valid ID when collecting your library card. You can use library cards issued by other academic libraries as a library card.

A library card and borrowing are free of charge but fines are charged for overdue loans. You can renew your loans and place reservations yourself using the TUAS Finna.

We deliver intercampus loans in case you need material that is located in the campus library which you are not able to visit. You can return your loans at any of the TUAS campus libraries. When the library is closed, use the return drop-boxes outside the campus libraries.

Textbooks, journals, ebooks and theses at your disposal

You find material for studying at the library: textbooks and ebooks, journals, music, films and printed theses. Go to TUAS Finna to check the location and status of the materials you need. Note that loan periods vary according to material types (books, journals etc.)

Most of the new TUAS theses are available in fulltext online at Theseus database. You can search information on both TUAS theses and e-theses completed using TUAS Finna search service.

Besides printed materials TUAS students and staff have access to a wide selection of electronic resources online. You find the licensed electronic resources in TUAS Finna. Online dictionaries, ebooks and other useful material will play a substantial part in your studying. Read more about information seeking and use Information and Reserch Guides made by the library.

TUAS students and staff have access to electronic resources on-campus while logged into the TUAS network or at home by logging in. Other library customers have access to most of the electronic resources from TUAS library computers.

Come to your campus library to study or work as a group.

Campus libraries offer studying environments for reading in peace, working online, taking e-exams, working as a group and self-study facilities when the library is closed. Students can top up the print and copy account by purchasing balance at the campus library.

TUAS students learn more about the library services at the library info during orientation days. Library provides info skills training as integrated part of the curricula in degree programmes for students at the Turku University of Applied Sciences. 

Information specialist assist you in finding information in case you feel you need more in-depth advice or support. Contact the information specialist of your field and schedule an appointment for a consultation.
