Theatreinpalm.eu online platform supports emerging theatre artists
Turku UAS Arts Academy has developed an online platform to support networking and employment opportunities for emerging theatre and performing arts professionals.
Artists and theatre organisations from all over Europe can register on the Theatreinpalm.eu platform, share their professional information, skills and ambitions, find partners and collaborators for their projects and connect with other registered members. In addition to getting connected, the platform offers useful information, inspiring artist stories and events. Registration is open to all and free of charge.
- In addition to teaching theatre arts, it is important for us to develop ways to support emerging and graduating artists to find their place in the arts. We want to create opportunities for them to develop their skills and professional networks. The aim is to help artists find new channels for employment, or self-employment, says project´s Content Director, Mervi Rankila-Källström from the Performing Arts department of the Arts Academy.
The online platform has been created as part of the international, EU-funded Theatre in Palm project coordinated by the Turku UAS Arts Academy. The project brings together 12 different theatre organisations from 12 countries to work together. In addition to different events and workshops, the project organises modern artist residencies and supports artists' mobility and networking.
