Machine Technology Center Turku Ltd 10 years: cooperation between education, research and business life
Machine Technology Center Turku Ltd celebrated its 10th birthday last Wednesday with a seminar and open house. In the Finnish context, Machine Technology Center Turku Ltd is a unique consortium of education and competence. TUAS is involved in its activities.
Machine Technology Center Turku Ltd, which also works as a learning and development environment of Turku University of Applied Sciences, supports and promotes cooperation between educational institutes, research organisations and the business world and strengthens the competitiveness of the local technology industry companies.
- Keeping manufacturing in Finland requires new innovative products, top professional competence at different levels and the implementation of new production technologies. The Machine Technology Center can support these tasks for its part, said Managing Director Erkki Virkki from Machine Technology Center Turku Ltd.
Working life oriented learning environment
The Machine Technology Center offers a working life oriented learning environment for TUAS students, especially those in the degree programmes in Mechanical and Production Engineering and Industrial Management and Engineering. The main objective is to train competent workforce for the companies in the region.
The Machine Technology Center is a place where educational institutes can use state-of-the-art machinery in their teaching, under the guidance of experienced users. For example, the laser technology and robot welding technology are at the cutting edge of Finland.
