Contemporary Art
The Contemporary Art research group sees that the field of contemporary art is always changing. Contemporary art challenges art practices and questions current issues in our society. As a research group we explore and investigate various contemporary art practices like site-specific and situation-based art, socially engaged public art, community and environmental art, happenings and performances, video and media art, contemporary conceptual art and new interventions.
The Contemporary Art research group aims to carry out long-term collaborative national and international projects that involve fine art and photography students, artist teachers and development of fine art curricula. Questions of identity (previous and current projects in self-portrait), ethics, ecologies, dialogical and participatory multidisciplinary practices and various roles of the contemporary artist are at the core of our research group.
